1927 3 Press Photos of Grace Coolidge and the presidential Chow puppy Tiny Tim

Just when I think I have every press photo imaginable of the Coolidge family and their chows, another one comes along to delight me!!!   The image being very old and yellowed as well as blurry took some serious restoration work to bring out the details of the Chow etc, but I think you can now see his lovey face.  Tim was a very dark red little chow.

This 1927 original 8×10 press photo in my private collection features the red chow “Tiny Tim” who was a Whitehouse favorite.  The text on the back of the photo reads

MRS COOLIDGE AND HER NEW BLACK HILL PETS

Chicago, Aug 2-27:-  Diana, the new white Collie, given to Mrs. Coolidge, after the death of Prudence Prim, Tiny Tim, the Chow, and the Democratic Donkey, Ebeneezar, present a varied trio as they are pictured with the First Lady of the grounds of the State Game Lodge, where the President and Mrs. Coolidge are vacationing in the Black Hills of South Dakota

UPDATE February 1 2021- The photos  below are some more new press photos I recently purchased and I thought they would go well here. The left photo looks to be shot the same day as the above photo in 1927.  The right image was later after Calvin Coolidge had passed.  Tim was the only dog the Coolidges kept after leaving the Whitehouse, so I am pretty sure that even though the adult chow looks almost black, it is probably Tim (same as the puppy on left) who matured as a deep deep mahogany red

I do my best to be as accurate as possible in my research, however many times written history finds a way to "morph" over time. I love your comments and appreciate all feedback, additions and corrections my readers have to offer to help make this a well rounded and accurate archive.
