RESTORATION- 1928 President Calvin and Grace Coolidge with Chow Tiny Tim Christmas Vacation on Sapelo Island

Some of my most treasured finds are my images of President Calvin Coolidge and his lovely wife Grace, with their chows Tiny Tim and Blackberry.  Other than Admiral Dewey who had a Chinese Chow named “Bob” as mascot to the USS Olympia during the Spanish American War, The Coolidges Chows were the most influential in bringing the breed into the spotlight and its biggest popularity phase during the 1920’s and early 1930’s.  I have so much information on the Coolidges and their chows you can read at THIS LINK

I was so fortunate to have found this ORIGINAL high-quality 8×10 photo from the 1920’s to add to the collection.   It needed quite a bit of tweeking on Tiny Tim’s  face to bring out his beautiful expression and you can now see the President and Grace and their clothing clearer as well.   This photo shows them aboard the yacht, Zapala,  the day after Christmas,  as they left Brunswick, Ga for their vacation on Sapelo Island to spend the holidays.   Learn more about the Coolidge holiday by reading this blog post I discovered.  CLICK HERE for the story on Daniel Wright’s amazing archive/blog on the Coolidges

I do my best to be as accurate as possible in my research, however many times written history finds a way to "morph" over time. I love your comments and appreciate all feedback, additions and corrections my readers have to offer to help make this a well rounded and accurate archive.
