TEXT SOURCE BELOW: Anna Katherine Nichols THE CHOW CHOW p.40

Chang-Shi Kennels were established in the mid 1940’s by Jerry and Lucille Sterling, based on imported dogs from Germany and Belgium.  The Sterlings, who are from Nashville, Tennessee, established an exciting record for chows when , in 1957 they scored a world’s record in the breed, campaigning five homebred littermates to championship–all by the time they had reached ten months of age.  As fronstingon the cake, two of the males along the way became Group winners.
