The above photo is in my private collection.  The man in the middle could possibly be the actor  James Cagney who owned and bred chows

It was the Roaring Twenties and EVERYTHONG seemed to be all the “rage”. Flappers and their beaus were scoffing prohibition laws, consumerism was also a “thing”.   Jazz was the music of the times and silent movies another favorite past time!   It was truly a fascinating decade in our history and the Chow Chow was in the thick of it all, taking center stage as a companion and guardian, accessory and status symbol.  This article from 1924 pretty well sums up how important the Chow was to the elite and high rollers of the era.  Be sure to check out my curated collection of CHOW WITH AUTOMOBILES!

BELOW IS MRS JOHN ADAMS WITH CH. LORD CHOLMONDELEY II WHO WAS MENTIONED IN THE ARTICLE

BELOW IS A WONDERFUL EXAMPLE OF THE OPULENT VIBE A “MOTOR CAR CHOW” ADDS TO THE SCENE!

I do my best to be as accurate as possible in my research, however many times written history finds a way to "morph" over time. I love your comments and appreciate all feedback, additions and corrections my readers have to offer to help make this a well rounded and accurate archive.
