1931 Real photo postcards of President & Grace Coolidge with their chow Tiny Tim

Above and below, find my restored versions of 2 wonderful RPPCs  (or real photo post cards) which I recently had to do some negotiating to obtain them.   The originals are the last image you see below.   They were both taken after President Coolidge and his wife Grace had retired to Northampton Massachusetts with their favorite of the Whitehouse pets, Tiny Tim.   The rest of the dozens of pets they had accumulated at the Whitehouse had been rehomed, but they couldn’t bear to part with Tim.  This photo above truly shows the wonderful relationship they had which this handsome dark red dog.

The photo above I really love for both it’s patriotic theme, and for how beautifully posed “Tim” is , showing off his lovely square body and headpiece.  He must have been quite the striking chow, accompanying the president  to everything from the opening of new bridges to their working vacations around the country.

Above are the original photo postcards which are in my extensive collection of Coolidge chow ephemera

I do my best to be as accurate as possible in my research, however many times written history finds a way to "morph" over time. I love your comments and appreciate all feedback, additions and corrections my readers have to offer to help make this a well rounded and accurate archive.
