Thank you Judith Tulloch for sharing this outstanding piece of Chow and Art history with the ChowTales community

BELOW ARE JUDITHS PERSONAL NOTES ABOUT THIS PAINTING

Watercolor painting of Ch. Yung Cheng of Amwell

“This painting was given to me by Anne Knott of England. She had bought it quite a number of years ago. Mrs.
Knott is now deceased. It is signed by K. Ingle and dated 1936.

Above is sire to Ch. Yung Cheng. – Ch. Pu An of Amwell Source: The Book of the Chow Chow by Sam Draper

Ch. Yung Cheng was bred by Lady Faudel-Phillips of England. Her pedigree may be found on
page 115 of the 1948 Midland Chow Chow Club Yearbook. Her sire was Ch. Pu An of Amwell (black)
(Ch. Pusa of Amwell x Parapan of Amwell), her dam Ch. Li Chin of Amwell, a cream bitch who
began her show career in 1932 (Li Po x Dido Queen of Carthage).”

Above, a beautiful photo of Yung Cheng’s mother Ch. Li Chin of Amwell. Reported to be a cream or a fawn in different references. Photo from an article written by Lady Faudell-Phillips in the Tailwagger Magazine 1934

“Yung Cheng and her mother are pictured on page 18 of the 1947 Midland Chow Chow Club
Yearbook. They were both good sized bitches, Yung Cheng reported at 57 pounds and Li Chin
at 62.”

I do my best to be as accurate as possible in my research, however many times written history finds a way to "morph" over time. I love your comments and appreciate all feedback, additions and corrections my readers have to offer to help make this a well rounded and accurate archive.
