Fay Compton – English Actress and her chows circa 1919

Its always such a treat to discover I have more than one snippet or photo  of a person with their chows.   I had the actual article above in my albums for years, then as I was paging through looking for something else I realized I also had an autographed postcard of the actress with a single chow as well.    These chows are some of the earlier examples of the breed in England and look to be very adored.  The one to the left could very well be a blue, judging from the face shadings

Fay Compton was born on September 18, 1894 in West Kensington, London, England as Virginia Lilian Emmeline Mackenzie Compton. She was an actress, known for The Haunting (1963), Odd Man Out (1947) and Othello (1951). She was married to Lauri de Frece, H.G. Pelissier, Ralph Michael and Leon Quartermaine. She died on December 12, 1978 in Hove, East Sussex, England.  SOURCE IMBD

I do my best to be as accurate as possible in my research, however many times written history finds a way to "morph" over time. I love your comments and appreciate all feedback, additions and corrections my readers have to offer to help make this a well rounded and accurate archive.
