ACTRESS- Billie Burke -Wizard of Oz “Glinda” with mention of her chow Zuzu

What a find…it all started with the little 1920 snippet from the newspaper, which led me down the Yellow Brick Road in search of a photo of this very famous actress and one of her chows.  Knowing that the chow named “Zuzu” was in the silent film “Sadie Love” with Billie Burke was the icing on the cake.  I”m still looking for a copy of this film to look for Zuzu.  Below is a poster from that film.  The chow pictured above  is most likely another dog from later years judging by the style of dress Billie is wearing which is more in line with 1930’s attire.

Billie Burke had a long productive career in film, Broadway, and radio and was also known as Mrs. Ziegfield, married to Broadway producer and impresario Florenz Ziegfeld Jr. (Ziegfield Follies) from 1914 until he passed in 1932.

I do my best to be as accurate as possible in my research, however many times written history finds a way to "morph" over time. I love your comments and appreciate all feedback, additions and corrections my readers have to offer to help make this a well rounded and accurate archive.
