1907 Photo of Miss Armyne Gordon and chows – Lady’s Realm Magazine

This stellar image with the little article came from a very rare publication called LADY’S REALM 1907 from England.  The beautifully photographed 10 page magazine feature was called “SOCIETY KENNELS…What the owners say about their inmates”  , featuring everyone from Queen Alexandra and her Borzoi, to socialites and royalty with their spaniels and French Bulldogs etc.   It is the “who’s who” of the elite in the dog world of England in the early 1900’s

The little  writeup below went with this stunning photograph of Miss Armyne Gordon, one of the leading authorities on the earliest Chows imported from China by her mother, Lady Granville Gordon.   This is the most breathtaking image I have found so far of Miss Gordon with her chows.  The article was worth every penny I paid to purchase it from England just to obtain this image!

I do my best to be as accurate as possible in my research, however many times written history finds a way to "morph" over time. I love your comments and appreciate all feedback, additions and corrections my readers have to offer to help make this a well rounded and accurate archive.
