1929 Mrs Goodwin pictured with a brace of blue chows

Circa 1929 – Mrs Goodwin with her brace of blue chows. According to the article the dog to the right was purchased for close to $10,000.00 . Reportedly the only blue brace in America and possibly the world.

The 1920’s into the 1930s brought great interest in the blue chows as novelty color, but the fad wore off in short time for lack of overall interest by the fancy. A few blues of exceptional breed type did quite well back then .  2 examples are below this article who took top honors at the Chow Club of America National Specialty shows

I do my best to be as accurate as possible in my research, however many times written history finds a way to "morph" over time. I love your comments and appreciate all feedback, additions and corrections my readers have to offer to help make this a well rounded and accurate archive.
