EDIBLE DOG OF CHINA

I’m over the moon excited about this article which has taken me some time to collect all the bits and pleces as well as hours of research. These 5 pages contain some of the most important proof of the chow breed (or the Edible Chinese Dog as they were known) in the infancy of it’s new found show career outside of China.

I have even rooted out part of the show entry for the “Foreign Class” of dogs mentioned at the 1885 Crystal Palace Dog show as well as a few images and stunning etchings of the dogs in attendance . Chows were shown in the same group as Dingos!

I do my best to be as accurate as possible in my research, however many times written history finds a way to "morph" over time. I love your comments and appreciate all feedback, additions and corrections my readers have to offer to help make this a well rounded and accurate archive.
