CHOWS IN PROFILE 1880-1930

Below find a sampling of photos I have selected from the archives of Chows who all pre date 1930 in both Europe and America.  This is a very good comparison of how consistent the breed was at this time.  The first row or so of dogs date from the late 1800’s through the teens.   The rest of the dogs are from the heyday of Chows in the 1920’s.  One can’t help be impressed by the incredible consistency of the Mulfra Chows.  Some photos I thought were duplicates until I read the names . I do my best to be as accurate as possible in my research, however many times written history finds a way to "morph" over time. I love your comments and appreciate all feedback, additions and corrections my readers have to offer to help make this a well rounded and accurate archive.

If only I could turn back time and buy one of the Mulfra chows. Mulfra Marguerite is my absolute favourite 🙂 I could die happy after owning a chow like her. She is magnificent in my eyes <3 And I love your collection.
