1939 Actress Carole Lombard with a chow – Ch. Chia Wan’s Blue Bedouin

Among my collection of magazine covers that feature Chows is this jaw-dropping magazine cover of Tailwaggers Magazine from 1939.  This dog is from some very important bloodlines, going back to being heavily bred on the famous  Ch. Choonam Brilliantine.   Ch. Chia Wan’s Blue Bedouin was sired by the also top winning Ch. Chia Wan’s Red Monarch (who was sired by Ch. Chia Wan’s Blue Monarch).

It is small wonder Carole Lombard looked like she was enjoying this photo shoot, as her dashing husband Clark Gable was a known lover of chows as well.  CLICK HERE TO READ MORE about Clark Gable and his chow chows.

I do my best to be as accurate as possible in my research, however many times written history finds a way to "morph" over time. I love your comments and appreciate all feedback, additions and corrections my readers have to offer to help make this a well rounded and accurate archive.
