Below find a sampling of photos I have selected from the archives of Chows who all date from 1930-1950 in both Europe and America.  When viewed after first seeing the

PRE 1930’s  CHOWS IN PROFILE COLLECTION 

it becomes apparent the time frame in which  Chow breed type was at a pivotal point.   Legs shortened, loins lengthened, muzzles shortened and the coats became longer and less tailored to the form of the dog.
